DENVER — A Denver Police Department officer has been placed on administrative leave due to a pending internal affairs investigation.
Travis Jackson has been removed from his duties as a District 1 patrol officer, DPD spokesman Sonny Jackson confirmed.
Sonny Jackson could not release the details of the allegations against Travis Jackson, but said anytime an officer is placed on administrative leave and investigated by internal affairs it is a “serious” situation.
Denver District Attorney’s Office spokeswoman Lynn Kimbrough said they received the case last week and, based on the information presented, the DA’s Office declined to file any criminal charges against Travis Jackson.
Kimbrough added that the case regarded sexual assault.
Travis Jackson joined the DPD in 2000.
