Enforcement of direct-lane pilot project on southbound I-25 to be ramped up

LONE TREE, Colo. — If you’re driving south on Interstate 25, police begin enforcing the rules of a new double white line that has been put in place.

The idea behind the pilot project is to improve traffic flow and ease congestion on southbound I-25 between County Line Road and Lincoln Street. The double white line means you cannot switch lanes.

The project allows the Colorado Department of Transportation to analyze traffic flow and patterns to see if it saves time during rush hour.

If you regularly commute in the area, you might have noticed the signs telling you not to cross the double white lines.

The project will last several weeks. And CDOT encourages commuters to take part in its survey and provide feedback.
