ALBANY, N.Y. — A waiter at the Ginger Man restaurant in Albany, N.Y., was stunned recently when a patron left him a $1,000 tip.
The man left a note on the bill saying it was his birthday and he wanted the waiter to pay it forward.
“Between everybody who was working that evening, I gave about half away to the staff,” the waiter said.
“I made sure it was OK with him. I thanked him. I hugged him. I hugged him again before he left. I just couldn’t believe it. I was in shock. My legs were shaking. I couldn’t really focus on the rest of the work I had to do that evening.”
The man who left the tip wants to remain anonymous.
