DENVER — A Tornado Warning was issued for Denver, Weld and Adams counties, ending at 4:30 p.m. Monday afternoon.

An apparent tornado was seen touching down near Ft. Lupton in Weld County about 4 p.m. Another was reported in the southwest section of the Rocky Mountain Arsenal Wildlife Refuge near Dick’s Sporting Goods Park.

Denver International Airport was sheltering passengers until the storm passed. A funnel cloud technically touched down on airport property, although it did not appear to be near any passenger areas.

Tornado sirens were sounding in Aurora, according to the City of Aurora. Extremely heavy rain was reported in the eastern part of metro Denver.

A flash flood watch is in effect for much of the state through 6 p.m. on Wednesday.
