DENVER — Police arrested a barricaded shooting suspect in northeast Denver Friday morning.

The confrontation at a home on Olmsted Drive near North Chambers Road was related to a shooting Thursday night on Mississippi Avenue, the Aurora Police Department said. Two black males reportedly fired shots at a car and fled. No one was hurt in the incident, APD reported.

Police said the man barricaded in the 15500 block of East Olmstead Drive is a suspect in that shooting. Since the man was presumed to have access to firearms and was refusing to come out, a SWAT team and negotiators were activated about 5:30 a.m., APD said.

Officers and a K9 unit entered the home, and the dog reportedly bit the suspect, ending the confrontation. The man was taken into custody about 7:20 a.m., according to APD.
