LITTLETON, Colo. — A man was killed early Monday morning after the vehicle he was in plunged into Johnson Reservoir at Clement Park.

Reports said the vehicle was 30 feet off shore and a dive team recovered the man in his mid-20s after the vehicle reportedly rolled over and crashed into the water, according to Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office dispatchers.

The man was transported to a local hospital, but he was later declared dead, the Colorado State Patrol said.

The cause of the crash is under investigation, but deputies said the driver was going around the reservoir on the bike path when he lost control and went into the water.
