Eastbound I-70 closed in Golden after fatal head-on accident

GOLDEN, Colo. — Eastbound Interstate 70 was closed Tuesday morning after a head-on crash, the Lakewood Police Department said.

The crash happened about 10:15 a.m. at Denver West Marriott Boulevard, near the Colorado Mills shopping center.

Traffic was being taken off at West Colfax Avenue in Golden, and the Colorado State Patrol said to expect heavy delays.

There is no expected time for when the highway will reopen.
