LITTLETON, Colo. — Investigators in Littleton identified a man as a suspect in a fatal shooting and are asking for the public’s help in finding him.

Joshua “Josh” Hoppe, 32, is wanted on a first-degree homicide charge for allegedly killing another man Wednesday night, police said.

Police were called to an apartment complex on W. Peak Avenue and S.  Acoma Street around 8:05 p.m. after residents reported hearing gunfire.

When officers arrived they found a 55-year-old man who had been shot in the chest, police said. The victim’s name has not yet been released.

The shooter ran away from the scene on foot, police said, however, on Thursday investigators were able to identify Hoppe as a suspect.

Police have not yet said why they suspect Hoppe.

He’s described as a white man, 5-feet-10 and about 200 pounds. He has multiple tattoos and was last seen wearing blue jeans and a black long-sleeved shirt, police said.

Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call Littleton Police at 303-795-3893.
