LARIMER COUNTY, Colo. — Rescue crews rescued an injured hiker off Horsetooth Rock on Monday morning, the Poudre Fire Authority said.
The 16-year-old girl slid about 50 feet, then tumbled another 15 feet into a crevice off the main trail west of Fort Collins,
An AirLink helicopter from Medical Center of the Rockies is at the Horsetooth Mountain Open Space to transport the girl once she’s rescued by multiagency crews using high-angle ropes.
Poudre Fire Authority is leading the rescue with Larimer County Search and Rescue personnel and emergency responders from multiple agencies.
Part of the trail was closed as the rescue was conducted.
