A sneeze and a “bless you” caused suspension from school according to student
NEWBERN, Tenn. — A student at a Tennessee high school says she was suspended for saying “bless you” to another student after that student sneezed.
The website momdot had an item Monday where Dyer County High School senior Kendra Turner claims she was suspended after saying “bless you” to a fellow student who sneezed during keyboarding class.
WREG NewsChannel 3 reports they were still waiting for the school district’s explanation about what happened.
While the Dyer County Schools superintendent has not commented on the alleged incident, we were told there is a strict policy in the keyboarding classroom against “outbursts,” including saying “bless you” when someone sneezes.
We’re told the policy is in place to assure students are not distracted, especially during tests, the station reports.
