FORT COLLINS, Colo. — The Colorado Bureau of Investigation canceled an Amber Alert for a 3-year-old boy out of Larimer County late Wednesday night.

Investigators believe Blue Lee Spencer was taken by his father, Jarred Lee Spencer, 32, about 2 p.m. from Wellington. They were last seen in a 1999 gold Ford F-150 pickup truck with Colorado license plate 942-EPF. Their direction of travel was unknown.

The Amber Alert was canceled just before midnight after the child was found in Fort Collins.

The Larimer County Sheriff’s office said Jarred Spencer’s father called police for violation of a protection order. Officers contacted the child’s mother, who they said had obvious injuries, but she did not tell them they were caused by the suspect.

The suspect’s father told investigators he believed his son was having a paranoid episode and was speaking of a possible bomb in his truck.
