Denver Zoo to ask City Council to approve admission hike

DENVER — Denver Zoo officials will ask the City Council to bump zoo admission prices by $2 per person.

The fee increases are to cover the growing costs of food and veterinary care for 4,000 animals as well as zoo maintenance.

If approved, admission during the zoo’s busiest season — March through October — will be $17 for adults, $14 for seniors and $12 for children ages 3 to 11. Children 2 and younger would still be free.

Zoo officials are also looking to increase prices by $1 from November to February.
