2 people survive crash near Granby Airport with minor injuries

GRAND COUNTY, Colo. — A small plane crashed near the Granby Airport in Grand County Friday afternoon.

Sheriff Rod Johnson says the plane was coming from Nevada and the pilot was trying to land at Granby Airport at 12:40 p.m. when he decided make a fly-around before landing.

He says it appears the plane stalled and crashed near the runway.

The plane, a 2006 Cirrus, was heavily damaged.

The two people on board were taken to the Granby Medical Clinic with minor injuries.
