Lakewood police respond to attempted suicide at golf course

LAKEWOOD, Colo. — Police in Lakewood responded to an attempted suicide a Fox Hollow Golf Course Sunday morning.

People reported hearing a gunshot or gunshots at about 7:30 a.m.

The far east side of the golf course was evacuated and locked down, according to Ty Countryman with the Lakewood Police Department.

The man shot himself but was still alive and was transported to the hospital at about 9 a.m., Countryman said.

Countryman said there was no other shooter and no one else was shot.

The lockdown on the golf course was lifted at about 9 a.m.
