Instagram plans to let users filter comments on posts

Instagram will soon give users more control over comments left on their photos, The Washington Post reports.

Facebook-owned Instagram plans to introduce a new anti-harassment tool that will allow users to filter comments on their posts or turn them off all together.

“Our goal is to make Instagram a friendly, fun and, most importantly, safe place for self expression,” Instagram’s head of public policy, Nicky Jackson Colaco, told the paper.

Don’t expect to get the new filters just yet, Instagram plans to release it to “high profile” users first. Those with a large amount of followers, likes, and comments.

The paper says all users will see changes to their comments in the coming months.
