BRIGHTON, Colo. — A Brighton man was sentenced to eight years in prison after being convicted of his fifth DUI.
Wesley Hunt, 35, had his two daughters, ages 5 and 7, in the car when he hit several cars on March 28, according to the 17th Judicial District Attorney’s Office.
Prosecutors said Hunt was driving on the wrong side of the road and also ran over a mailbox.
One of Hunts’ daughters told police that he hit a car in a parking lot and drove away so fast that she hit her face in the vehicle. She ended up with a black eye, according to prosecutors.
The girl also said she thought they were going to die because of the way her father was driving, prosecutors stated.
Hunt was out on bond for his fourth DUI arrest at the time. He is scheduled to be sentenced in that case on August 30.
Hunt has prior DUI or DWAI convictions in 1999, 2001, and 2005.
