Suspect in custody after armed man barricaded himself inside Parker apartment
PARKER, Colo. — A man is in custody after he barricaded himself inside an apartment and refused to answer the door on Thursday afternoon, the Parker Police Department said.
The incident happened at the Ranchstone Apartments, near E-470 and Jordan Road, shortly after 12:00 p.m. on Thursday. During the time, police asked residents to stay inside and lock their doors.
Police say it started when the suspect pointed gun at an individual and returned to his apartment.
It came to an end at 2:45 p.m. when the individual came out and surrendered. He was placed into custody and transported to an area hospital for evaluation, police said.
The suspect, who officers say is a white man in his forties, will be charged with felony menacing, according to police.
The Douglas County Regional SWAT Team and the Greenwood Village K-9 unit were also on scene.
There were no injuries.
