Woman hit, killed by train near Westminster

WESTMINSTER, Colo. – A woman was hit and killed by a train in the 10500 block of Wadsworth Boulevard in Westminster around 1:35 p.m. on Saturday, police said.

The victim was later identified as 20-year-old Amanda Kirchner of Westminster. Kirchner is the daughter of an employee at another Denver TV station.

Police say the Burlington Northern Railroad train was going northbound along Wadsworth when the engineer spotted a person walking close to the tracks.
