Denver halts permits for garden style town homes

DENVER – Denver city council is temporarily putting a halt to the new modern style ‘slot’ town homes.

The city wants to preserve some neighborhoods and is telling developers they can’t build anymore in the city for at least a year.

Garden court row Town homes are developed on a property that may have once been a single family home.

The new town homes are built perpendicular to the street. Opponents say they are not only ugly, but they are a perversion of the older neighborhoods.

Developers love the idea because they can put more town homes on a single piece of property.

The moratorium will last a year.
