Gravel truck hits, kills flagger in road construction zone
WELD COUNTY, Colo. — A gravel truck hit and killed a road construction worker Weld County Friday night.
It happened at Highway 119 and County Road 5, west of I-25. FOX31’s Joe St. George was told the victim was a flagger at the site.
There is major road construction going on at this location. Both eastbound lanes of Highway 119 are closed for road work and there are single east-west lanes in what would normally be the two westbound lanes.
Police said a gravel truck hit the pedestrian.
The road was closed during the investigation.
