COMMERCE CITY, Colo. -- The Department of Justice will hold two community meetings this week to discuss concerns regarding the Commerce City Police Department.
The meetings are part of a voluntary, independent review process.
The Department of Justice will also look into policies, training and hiring practices within the department.
The review follows a number of controversies, with several officers facing criminal charges.
Part of the review process is getting community input.
The first community meeting will be held Tuesday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Stuart Middle School. Another meeting is set for Wednesday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Adams City High School.
Once the Department of Justice has completed the review process, it will recommend long-term changes.
