SUMMIT COUNTY, Colo. — Four people were injured after a truck hauling beer hit another vehicle and rolled over on Loveland Pass on Tuesday morning, Lake Dillon Fire-Rescue said.
Officials said the truck hit the vehicle and overturned on the runaway truck ramp on the west side of the pass.
Three people were treated the scene and one person was taken to St. Anthony Summit Medical Center in Frisco with “significant injuries.”
The Colorado Department of Transportation closed U.S. 6 in both directions over the pass as crews worked to clean up the accident.
Trucks hauling hazardous materials staged at the Eisenhower Tunnel to be escorted through at the top of each hour.
The Colorado State Patrol said the highway should reopen by about 5 p.m.
